Situated to the east of the hillock of Saint-Émilion, the property includes a beautiful Château with buildings set out around a central courtyard which were built by Benedictine monks from the 17th century onwards. These served as the farm and the Monastery for the religious order and were also used as a summer residence by the Canons of Saint-Émilion. The Château’s location owes nothing to chance, for the congregation decided to build it as close as possible to a stream, the “Cantin” (from the Latin “Cantio” meaning chant or song).
Since the 2009 vintage, Château Cantin benefits from the expertise of the oenologist Michel Rolland and his team.

Chateau Cantin Saint-Emilion Grand Cru is a blend of 98% Merlot and 2% Cabernet-Franc.

Legend has it that, upon his return from the Trojan War, the mythical Greek hero Diomedes sailed the Adriatic Sea until he reached the River Ofanto, where he anchored his ship with some stones from the Trojan fort.. Finding the place pleasant and fertile, Diomedes decided to plant the vine shoots he had brought with him as a souvenir from the distant city of Troy. Dacastello Sauvignon Blanc Veneto I.G.T. 12%
Sauvignon blanc, a grape of French origin, owes its name to the fact that its leaves resemble those of wild vines. It therefore became known as sauvage vignon, meaning spontaneous vineyard. Greatly appreciated by Emperor Augustus, Soave is a native wine with unique colour, austerity and persistence. The dark soil, made up of volcanic layers of tufa and limestone, make Soave D.O.C. Dacastello an authentic wine with personality. In the 5th century, Cassiodorus recommended that the royal table be stocked with Veronese wines made from white grapes that were œvery suave and full-bodied, capable of expressing œclear purity, jovial candour and incredible suaveness.
