Sumptuous and velvety, it is characterised by the unmistakable scents of the Mediterranean maquis and mineral nuances.
Primitivo di Manduria is the Apulian wine of the Ionian Sea par excellence. The vineyards, in which the alberello (bush) vine training system is used, are influenced by sea breeze and salty atmosphere which enhance the particular character of this wine.
A tribute to the Greek poet Homer, who described the sea as being “the colour of wine”, this wine is an ode to the sea, Pelagos, in ancient Greek.

Legend has it that, upon his return from the Trojan War, the mythical Greek hero Diomedes sailed the Adriatic Sea until he reached the River Ofanto, where he anchored his ship with some stones from the Trojan fort.. Finding the place pleasant and fertile, Diomedes decided to plant the vine shoots he had brought with him as a souvenir from the distant city of Troy. A noble and international grape variety, Pinot Grigio is interesting, crisp white wine. Its name comes from the French, pin, meaning pine, relating to the shape of the Pinot grape, which resembles a pinecone. Pinot Grigio delle Venezie D.O.C.
